Vigo opposition demands answers over suspended 470M euro bus contract

The People's Party (PP) of Vigo, led by Luisa Sánchez, has criticized the local government for its silence regarding the suspension of a major urban bus contract. The tender, valued at approximately 470 million euros for a ten-year period, was halted several weeks ago under suspicious circumstances. The PP suggests the suspension may be linked to suspected collusive practices among bidding companies.

In addition to the contract delay, the opposition highlighted the loss of 3.5 million euros in state funds intended to subsidize the Pass Vigo transit card for 2026. Sánchez has demanded that Councilor for Development, Javier Pardo, appear before the municipal plenary to provide explanations, after a previous request for him to testify in information commissions was denied by the local administration.
