Vigo police detect vehicle infractions during mobility parking checks
The Vigo Local Police have identified several vehicle infractions during enforcement campaigns targeting the misuse of parking spaces reserved for persons with reduced mobility (PMR). While monitoring these specific zones, officers discovered a range of additional violations, including expired technical inspections (ITV), lack of mandatory insurance, and unauthorized use of reserved spots.
Notable incidents include a vehicle near the Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital that lacked both insurance and a valid ITV while occupying a PMR space without authorization. In another instance on Buenos Aires Avenue, a vehicle was found to have an expired inspection dating back nearly two and a half years. Additionally, officers noted cases where drivers displayed disability cards that did not grant the specific legal authorization required for reserved parking.
