Vigo receives concession for O Vao beach environmental recovery

The Xunta de Galicia has granted the Vigo City Council a 30-year concession to occupy 20,978.11 square meters of maritime-terrestrial public domain. This authorization is intended for the environmental recovery and revitalization of O Vao beach and its surrounding area.

The project, which involves an investment exceeding 5 million euros, aims to address an environment that has become highly anthropized with obsolete and dysfunctional infrastructure. Planned actions include replacing damaged wooden walkways, reordering beach access, removing parking spaces from the public domain, and adjusting walkways to respect the shoreline.

The concession is subject to the submission of technical documentation for archaeological evaluations and compliance with all necessary state permits and licenses.
