Vigo region hosts traditional Galician food festivals in October
The Vigo region is hosting several traditional gastronomic celebrations in October. In the parish of Cabral, the Centro Cultural y Recreativo will hold the second edition of the ‘Festa dos Callos’ on Sunday, October 4. The event features traditional Galician dishes, including tripe portions for 8 euros and large churrasco platters with potatoes and chorizo for 16 euros. The festivities will take place in a covered sports area to ensure protection from weather conditions, and takeaway options will be available.
Additionally, the ‘Festa Furancheira de Parderrubias’ in Salceda de Caselas aims to revive the ‘furancheiro spirit’ through three days of food, music, and wine. Scheduled for the second weekend of October (Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th) and Friday the 16th, the event will be held at Finca da Lavandeira. The celebration will feature traditional Galician tapas such as empanada, tortilla de patatas, mussels, and croquettes, alongside homemade desserts and local wine.
