Iberdrola awards ten projects for rural electrification and energy transition

Iberdrola held the third edition of its Convive Awards in Sigüenza, recognizing ten initiatives that promote environmental, agricultural, and social coexistence through clean energy and electrification.

Key awardees include Bayer España for its project to decarbonize aspirin manufacturing in Asturias, and Birka Composites for industrial innovation in rural settings. The Proyecto Arraigo initiative was honored for its work in using the energy transition to combat rural depopulation, having helped settle over 600 families in Spanish municipalities. Other recognized entities include the Diputación de Cuenca, the Basque Government for biodiversity protection in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, and the industrial cluster in Lucena, Córdoba.

During the ceremony, Emiliano García-Page, President of Castilla-La Mancha, emphasized the need for companies related to renewable energy production to establish themselves within the region to ensure local economic benefits.
