Vihti municipality opens voting for participatory budgeting

The municipality of Vihti has launched the voting phase for its participatory budgeting project. Following an idea search in the spring that yielded 102 proposals, an expert group selected feasible options based on factors such as scheduling, resources, safety, and maintenance costs.

The municipal board has allocated 50,000 euros for the winning proposal, which will be included in the 2027 budget and implemented next year. Previous projects funded through this initiative include park upgrades, improved school equipment, and various community amenities.

This year's call for ideas focused on strengthening community, increasing inclusion, and supporting families. Current voting options include projects such as a hobby horse park in Nummela, an outdoor gym in Vihtijärvi, breastfeeding rooms, Christmas lights, and accessibility improvements. Residents can vote for two proposals via an online form until August 31.
