Viih Tube returns to social media as labor ministry probes reality show

Influencer Viih Tube reactivated her Instagram, TikTok and YouTube profiles after they were taken offline amid controversy over the reality programme “As Patroas”, which was filmed with the couple’s domestic workers. Critics highlighted degrading challenges, such as forcing participants to reach into a toilet bowl or a trash can to retrieve plastic coins.

The backlash prompted Brazil’s Ministry of Public Labor (MPT) to open an investigation. On July 3 the ministry held an urgent hearing with Viih Tube and her partner Eliezer, collecting initial statements and announcing that it will examine possible violations of labour rights and the dignity of workers, seeking consensual solutions.

Since the accounts were restored, Viih has posted discount offers in Instagram Stories and shared video of herself watching the Brazilian national‑team match with family. The reality episodes remain unavailable on Instagram; only the first chapter is still on TikTok, while the second episode does not appear on any platform. Viih has not publicly commented on the investigation or the removal of the episodes.
