Viikate releases new single and music video for 30th anniversary

The Finnish melodic metal band Viikate has released a new single and music video titled ‘Meillä on siivet’. The release is part of the band’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, known as the V30V year.

Produced in collaboration with the city of Kouvola and the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), the music video features local landscapes from the band’s hometown. Directed by Tuomas Petsalo of Medialouhos, the video aims to present a brighter, more colorful side of the band’s signature melancholic style using pink balloons and recognizable scenery.

The single is available on streaming services and as a seven-inch vinyl. To mark the anniversary, Viikate is also embarking on a V30V tour across various Finnish cities, including Kouvola, Lahti, Turku, Tampere, and Helsinki, throughout the autumn and early winter.
