Viitorul Sântimbru beats Corona Brașov 2-1 in Cupa României regional stage

Viitorul Sântimbru defeated Corona Brașov 2-1 in the regional phase of the Cupa României on 8 July 2026. The victory moves the Alba County champions further toward promotion to Liga III.

Epure opened the scoring for Viitorul, with Lupșan and Ivașcu adding the second‑half goals. Corona Brașov reduced the deficit but could not equalise. Coach Adrian Bicheși praised his side’s performance and noted that the team still has a return match against Viitorul Târgu Mureș pending. The win also secured Viitorul’s place in the next round of the regional cup competition.
