Vijay Dahiya aims to restore Delhi's red-ball consistency
Newly appointed Delhi senior men’s head coach Vijay Dahiya expressed confidence that the team will regain consistency in red-ball cricket within a season or two. While the team remains strong in white-ball formats and continues to produce players for the IPL and national teams, Delhi has struggled in the Ranji Trophy, failing to advance past the group stage for seven consecutive seasons.
Dahiya, who previously led the seven-time champions to a title in the 2007/08 campaign, stated that restoring the team's authority in red-ball cricket is his primary objective. He noted the high level of talent within the dressing room but characterized their red-ball performance as a “work in progress.”
Delhi is scheduled to begin its Ranji Trophy Elite Group C campaign against Bengal on October 11 in Kalyani.
