Vijay Mallya accuses CBI and ED of fabricating charges
Vijay Mallya, the alleged fugitive businessman, has launched a social media offensive against Indian investigative agencies, accusing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of concocting false charges and engaging in character assassination.
In a series of posts on X, Mallya claimed that the legal processes against him are unjust, particularly noting that banks have already recovered debts owed by him. He defended the loans taken by Kingfisher Airlines, asserting they were approved by the relevant banks.
Mallya criticized the ED for publicizing enforcement actions, such as attachments in a money laundering case in Indore and searches at the residence of Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi, without a trial or formal chargesheet. He maintained that he is not a fugitive from India, citing UK legal restrictions on his travel.
