Vijayawada police deny YSRC permission for protests

NTR district police have denied permission for the YSRC to conduct dharnas, rallies, and other protest programs in Vijayawada this coming Monday. The denial comes in response to a statewide call by the party to protest alleged irregularities in the DSC recruitment process.

Authorities cited existing prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Section 30 of the Police Act as the primary reason for the refusal. Police officials also noted that ongoing Vinayaka idol immersion processions, potential traffic disruptions, and a shortage of available personnel necessitated the restriction to maintain law and order.
