Viking Longships review: European river cruise experience

A review of Viking Longships, specifically the Skirnir and Modi, highlights the consistent experience offered across the company’s fleet of 69 vessels. During a Rhine and Main Explorer cruise, passengers experienced efficient transfers due to shallow water levels on the Rhine.

The ships feature a Nordic minimalist design characterized by extensive use of glass, wood accents, and subdued colors. The layout is noted for providing ample sunlight and a sense of space. Onboard amenities include suites with priority access and a fuss-free check-in process. The decor includes subtle nods to the company’s heritage, such as Viking-style axes and photographs of founder Torstein Hagen.
