Viking names seven travel advisors as godparents of new ships

Viking has appointed seven travel industry leaders as godparents for its seven newest river ships. The selection recognizes the long-term partnerships between the cruise line and its global advisor community.

Among the appointees are two Australians: Michael Londregan, Senior Vice President of Global Operations at Virtuoso, who will serve as godfather to the Viking Ptah, and Danielle Galloway, Global Managing Director at Flight Centre Travel Group, who will be the godmother of the Viking Sjofn. The Viking Ptah is scheduled to sail the Nile, while the Viking Sjofn will operate on the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers.

The full group of godparents includes Shelby Steudle of Pavlus Travel, Carol Porter of The Roaming Boomers, Carol Shaddix of Imagine Going There, Ealeen Wong of Expedia Cruises, and Michael Consoli of Cruise Planners. These new vessels join a fleet that now exceeds 100 ships. The ships will sail various routes, including the Seine, the Nile, and the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers.
