Viktor Gyokeres seeks more playing time at Arsenal

Sweden international Viktor Gyokeres is seeking more playing time at Arsenal following a difficult start to the 2026/27 campaign. After a successful debut season where he scored 21 goals and helped the club win the Premier League, the 28-year-old has seen his minutes significantly reduced, totaling only 29 Premier League minutes so far this season.

Gyokeres has recently found form on the international stage, scoring twice in two matches for Sweden against Romania and Poland. His opportunity to return to the Arsenal starting lineup may increase if teammate Kai Havertz remains sidelined with a suspected hamstring injury.

Despite recent transfer speculation linking him to clubs in Serie A and the Saudi Pro League, Gyokeres has stated that an exit from Arsenal was never under serious consideration. However, former Arsenal defender Armand Traore has criticized the striker, claiming he lacks the ‘killer instinct’ and ‘aura’ of legendary players like Didier Drogba or Thierry Henry.
