Viktória Chladoňová wins bronze at European Cycling Championships
Slovak cyclist Viktória Chladoňová secured another bronze medal at the European Cycling Championships in Slovenia, competing in the U23 women's time trial. The 19-year-old finished with the third-best time on a challenging 22 km course featuring the Možjanca climb, trailing only two Dutch riders.
Nienke Vinke of the Netherlands took the gold medal, followed by compatriot Megan Arenso. Chladoňová finished 43 seconds behind the winner. This achievement follows her recent success as the U23 world champion in Montreal. Another Slovak rider, Sofia Ungerová, finished the time trial in 21st place.
Chladoňová, who competes professionally with Visma-Lease a Bike, noted that she arrived in Slovenia just a day before the race while dealing with a slight cold, which may have impacted her performance. Despite this, she expressed satisfaction with her third-place finish.
