Vila Nova da Baronia and Arronches hold major summer fairs showcasing local culture and economy

The traditional Feira Anual ’26 in Vila Nova da Baronia, Alentejo, ran from 16 to 19 July. Events included a night walk, concerts by Vizinhos, Los Romeros, the Delfins and DJ sets, a horse‑riding parade, a bull‑run and a performance by fadista Sara Correia.

The XV Feira das Atividades Económicas in Arronches opened on 9 July. Mayor João Crespo described it as a key moment for the municipality’s economic, social and cultural life, bringing together producers, merchants, institutions and visitors. The fair highlighted local gastronomy, announced new housing projects funded by EU recovery funds, and stressed cooperation with neighbouring Spanish territories.
