Vila Nova de Famalicão hosts 12th Half Marathon and inaugural Fama Championship combat sports gala

Registration opened for the 12th edition of the Vila Nova de Famalicão Half Marathon, scheduled for 18 October. The event offers a 21‑km race and a 10‑km run/walk, with entries through the Run Porto website and participant kits available on 17 October (10:00‑19:00) and the morning of the race. Last year’s edition attracted more than 3,500 athletes.

On the same weekend the city staged the first Fama Championship, a combat‑sports gala featuring 44 athletes under K1 rules. The headline bout saw Isabel Oliveira face Maialen Gallardo, and the program included a youth segment with 13 matches followed by senior A and B class fights. Organisers aim to establish Vila Nova de Famalicão as a reference venue for combat sports.
