Vila Nova defeats Atlético-GO 2-0 in Série B derby

Vila Nova defeated Atlético-GO 2-0 in the ‘clássico goiano’ during the 22nd round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. The match took place at the Antônio Accioly Stadium in Goiânia.

João Vieira opened the scoring for Vila Nova in the 49th minute of the first half following a pass from Marquinhos Gabriel. Dudu secured the victory in the 26th minute of the second half with a precise free kick that bypassed the wall and the goalkeeper.

With this win, Vila Nova reached 37 points, moving into third place in the standings and recovering from two consecutive losses. Atlético-GO remains in 10th place with 32 points. Following this result, Vila Nova is scheduled to face Ponte Preta, while Atlético-GO will play against Londrina.
