Vila Nova defeats Goiás 2-0 in Série B derby amid post-match tension

Vila Nova defeated Goiás 2-0 in the ‘clássico goiano’ during the 27th round of the Brazilian Série B at the Onésio Brasileiro Alvarenga stadium. The goals were scored by Hayner in the 22nd minute and André Luís in the 34th minute of the second half.

With this victory, Vila Nova moves to third place in the standings with 47 points, trailing the vice-leader Novorizontino by two points. Goiás remains in 13th place with 36 points.

Bravo criticized Tadeu’s behavior, describing it as ‘always presented with much arrogance.’ Additionally, Vila Nova striker André Luís admitted to intentionally provoking Tadeu during his goal celebration, citing previous provocations from the rival club during earlier matches in the season.
