Vila Nova signs BYD as master sponsor following Brazil betting ban

Vila Nova has announced the Chinese automaker BYD as its new master sponsor through the end of the current season. The club described the agreement as the largest sponsorship in its history, though specific financial details were not disclosed.

This partnership follows the termination of the club's contract with the betting company Bet da Sorte. The change was prompted by a federal provisional measure in Brazil that prohibits the advertising and exploitation of fixed-odds betting. Vila Nova is the first Brazilian club to replace a betting sponsor in the primary jersey position following this regulation.

The brand, represented in the region by Saga BYD, will debut on the team's uniform during their upcoming match against Botafogo-SP. Currently leading the Série B, Vila Nova is seeking promotion to the top tier of Brazilian football.
