Vila-real requests more funds from Generalitat for employment workshops

The Vila-real municipal government is preparing a proposal for the upcoming Plenary to urge the Generalitat Valenciana to increase funding for employment workshops (Talleres de Empleo). This move follows a resolution from LABORA that denied funding to Vila-real, the Diputación de Castellón, and several other municipalities due to a lack of available credit.

Government spokesperson Maria Fajardo stated that Vila-real’s project received a score of 66,506 points and requested a subsidy of 870,681.60 euros, but was explicitly denied because of insufficient funds. Fajardo accused the local PP party of attempting to manipulate the resolution to hide significant cuts to employment programs.

The administration noted that the budget shortage is a regional issue rather than one exclusive to Vila-real. In the province of Castellón, projects with high scores, such as one with 77,052 points, were also denied funding due to the lack of credit.
