Vila-seca police chief accused of pressuring officers over overtime
The UGT union has filed a complaint against the head of the Vila-seca Local Police, José Valiente, alleging he pressured officers to collect signatures to oppose the disclosure of information regarding overtime pay.
An internal municipal audit from July 2025 raised questions about the management of overtime, noting that the police chief received significant amounts: €10,760 in 2021, €25,213 in 2022, and over €23,200 between January and July 2024. The union highlighted concerns regarding the chief registering and validating his own overtime hours.
The Vila-seca City Council has rejected the accusations, stating that the signature collection is part of the transparency law's hearing process for affected individuals. The administration noted that the overtime case is currently being handled by Antifrau.
