Vila Velha building condemned as 16 families are evacuated

A residential building in the Vale Encantado neighborhood of Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, has been emergency-condemned due to severe structural risks. Block F of the Residencial Praia da Sereia was inspected by the municipal Civil Defense and local authorities, who identified extensive cracks, ground settlement (recalque), and concerning movements in the supporting soil.

The inspection indicated a high risk of structural collapse, leading to the immediate evacuation of 16 families. Residents reported being forced to leave their homes abruptly without prior notice. As of now, there is no timeline for when the residents may return, leaving many to seek temporary housing and alternatives for their belongings.
