Vila Viçosa announces tribute to Couto Jardim and Capuchos 2026 events

The municipality of Vila Viçosa has announced several cultural and community events. On August 16, a ceremony will be held at 09:30 near the bust of João Augusto do Couto Jardim to honor the benefactor. This initiative is organized in partnership with Associação VIVV and the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila Viçosa.

Preparations are also underway for the Capuchos 2026 festival. The program includes a concert series at the Capela do Paço Ducal de Vila Viçosa, with a performance titled ‘Amores e Lamentos’ scheduled for August 28. Additionally, a night walk (Caminhada Noturna) is set for September 10, featuring a 6.7 km urban route through the town's historic areas.
