Viladecans beach fire cuts power to 4,000 residents in Barcelona area

A vegetation fire broke out on La Murtra beach in Viladecans, Barcelona, on Tuesday night. Firefighters were alerted at 21:24 and deployed seven units to combat the "high‑intensity" blaze near the C‑31 highway. The fire burned about 3,600 m² and was extinguished by 23:15.

The incident damaged a medium‑voltage line, causing an outage that affected roughly 3,900‑4,000 customers in Viladecans, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Gavà and Castelldefels. Endesa cut the affected line and restored electricity to all customers by 23:00, though the line remained out of service while repairs continued into the following day.
