Vilaflor de Chasna hosts Europe’s highest vineyard
Vilaflor de Chasna, located in the southern mountains of Tenerife, is home to what is considered Europe’s highest vineyard. The municipality sits at an altitude of approximately 1,400 to 1,500 meters, making it one of the highest towns in the Canary Islands.
The Los Frontones estate features vines planted between 1,100 and 1,600 meters above sea level, growing in volcanic ash. The area is characterized by a cool, dry climate, pine forests, and a landscape of colonial houses and traditional agricultural terraces.
