Vilafranca to Montserrat Romeria celebrates 100th edition

The traditional Romeria of the parishes of Vilafranca to Montserrat celebrated its 100th edition from October 16 to 19, 2026. The event, which originated in 1921 organized by the Cos de Portants del Sant Crist, marked a century of continuous tradition, with the exception of six years when it was not held.

To commemorate the centenary, several special acts were organized, including the unveiling and blessing of a new commemorative plaque. The program featured various liturgical ceremonies, such as the pilgrim's mass and a vigil at the basilica, alongside social activities like a popular excursion and a chocolate tasting. Due to rain, scheduled performances by the Castellers and Falcons de Vilafranca were suspended on Sunday.
