San Juan tenders 28km of Route 40 North for rehabilitation

The Government of San Juan has called for tenders to begin the recovery of the first 28-kilometer section of the North Route 40, specifically the stretch between Tucunuco and San Roque in the Jáchal department. This project is part of a broader provincial road conservation plan executed in coordination with the National Directorate of Highways.

The works aim to address significant deterioration caused by pavement wear and inadequate drainage. The project includes widening the roadway from 6.30 meters to 7.30 meters, repaving with hot asphalt, constructing new shoulders, and improving drainage systems through new culverts and siphons. The intervention also features enhanced safety measures such as lateral containment systems, horizontal demarcation, and new vertical signaling. This corridor is considered strategic for the integration of the northern region, supporting local productive, tourist, and mining activities.
