Vilagrassa celebrates agriculture at 22nd Almond Fair

Fira de l’Ametlla Vilagrassa family farming almond festival Catalonia

The 22nd edition of the Fira de l’Ametlla in Vilagrassa celebrated local agriculture and territorial identity through several awards and ceremonies.

Joan Talarn, president of the Diputació, received the Gust de Lleida award for promoting regional food products. Local farmer Sebastià Petit was honored with the Homenatge a la Pagesia for his dedication to family farming and respect for the land. Additionally, communicator Mari Pau Huguet received the Ametlla de Plata for her authenticity, and Pep Callau was named Corriolaire Major.

Mayor Josep Maria Mor stated the fair aims to be more playful than commercial, focusing on introducing visitors to the municipality and its products, specifically highlighting the almond as a key gastronomic ingredient.
