Vilamet Association rejects 450 dinar raspberry price
The Vilamet Raspberry Producers Association in Arilje has rejected attempts by certain buyers to set the price for this year's raspberry harvest at 450 dinars per kilogram. The association stated that any price below 500 dinars is unacceptable, citing high fruit quality and stable global market prices as justifications.
Producers are also facing significant uncertainty regarding payments. Many farmers who delivered their crops in late July still do not know the final settlement price as of late August. The association has called on the Serbian Government and the Ministry of Agriculture to intervene and protect the sector, which they estimate supports approximately 500,000 people and serves as a vital export-oriented branch of the national economy.
