Vilanova del Camí honors senior citizens and community volunteers

Vilanova del Camí held a series of events during the Senior Citizens Week to honor local elderly residents and volunteers. One ceremony at the Can Papasseit Multipurpose Center recognized 32 individuals born in 1943 and 1944, with over 200 attendees including family and friends.

Local officials, including Mayor Noemí Trucharte and Councilor Judith Ranz, emphasized the vital role seniors play in the municipality's present and future. The event also coincided with the inauguration of new spaces on the first floor of the Senior Citizens Center.

Additionally, volunteers at local senior centers were recognized for their selfless work in managing activities and preventing social isolation. Volunteers highlighted how these centers serve as essential social hubs, offering activities such as dancing and traditional dances to foster active and healthy aging through community support networks.
