Vilanova i la Geltrú expands public parking in Caleiro and Masia Nova

The municipality of Vilanova i la Geltrú has implemented new public parking solutions in two different areas to address long-standing local demands.

In Caleiro, the local council purchased 1,237 square meters of land for 28,000 euros to create a 70-space parking area near the local church and cemetery. The acquisition was funded through the Plan +Provincia 2025 of the Diputación de Pontevedra. The site has been cleared and is expected to be paved in the coming months.

Additionally, the Masia Nova parking area has been renovated and opened to the public. Previously an unorganized lot, the space now features 40 parking spots, including two spaces specifically adapted for people with reduced mobility. The improvements include perimeter curbing, regularized paving, and designated pedestrian walkways. Future plans for the Masia Nova site include the planting of trees and the creation of a landscaped green zone during the autumn months.
