Vilhena MRI mobile unit completes over 5,000 exams
A mobile magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit stationed in Vilhena has completed 5,200 examinations to date. The initiative is a partnership between state deputy Ezequiel Neiva and the Vilhena Municipal Government, aimed at reducing waiting lists and improving diagnostic access for the Cone Sul region.
The program intends to perform approximately 10,000 procedures in total. Funding for the project includes R$ 5 million in individual parliamentary amendments from Ezequiel Neiva, covering 7,500 exams, while the Vilhena City Hall provided the counterpart to fund the remaining 2,500 procedures.
In addition to Vilhena, the service benefits residents of Cabixi, Cerejeiras, Chupinguaia, Colorado do Oeste, Corumbiara, and Pimenteiras do Oeste. By providing exams locally, the program reduces the need for patients to travel to distant medical centers, facilitating earlier diagnoses and treatment.
