Viljandi HC and HC Kehra advance to handball cup semifinals

Viljandi HC/Leonhard Weiss and HC Kehra Horizon Pulp&Paper have secured spots in the semifinals of the Estonian men's handball cup. While Mistra Tallinn defeated Viljandi HC 25:22 in their recent matchup, the victory was not enough for Mistra to advance to the next round.

The match between Mistra and Viljandi was highly competitive, remaining tied at 11:11 at halftime. Viljandi held a brief lead in the second half, reaching 16:14 in the 42nd minute, but Mistra managed to equalize at 19:19 by the 48th minute. Despite penalties that gave Viljandi numerical advantages, they were unable to capitalize. Mistra eventually secured the win through a late scoring surge and key saves from goalkeeper Mikael Mäkelä.

Defending champions Põlva Serviti have already guaranteed a place among the final four. The remaining semifinal spot will be determined in an upcoming match between SK Tapa and HC Viimsi/Alexela.
