Villa Clara to host sixth Mate Cocido and Torta Frita festival

The sixth edition of the Fiesta del Mate Cocido y la Torta Frita will take place this Sunday, September 6, at the Paseo de la Estación in Villa Clara, Villaguay department. The event is free to the public and is supported by the Entre Ríos Secretary of Culture.

Local authorities expect a significant turnout of over 3,000 people. The festival will feature more than 50 entrepreneurs and a parade of over 120 classic cars starting at noon. Musical performances include El Pato Viganoni, La Don César, La Nueva Tati, Los Raiceritos, and Los Charros.

A central attraction will be the gastronomy, specifically eight varieties of torta frita, including versions made with corn or rice flour, filled with ham and cheese or salami, and others flavored with dulce de leche, garlic, or glaze, all served with traditional mate cocido.
