Villa Consuelo linear park inaugurated in Santo Domingo

The National District Mayor's Office (ADN), in collaboration with the General Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects (Propeep), has inaugurated the Villa Consuelo linear park in Santo Domingo. The project involved a 400-meter intervention on María Viuda de la Cruz Street, transforming an area previously characterized by debris and waste into a recovered public space designed for community recreation and safety.

A key feature of the project is a 1,600-square-meter mural located on the exterior wall of the Juan Pablo Duarte Educational Center. Executed under the ‘Paseo de los Colores’ program, the artwork depicts the history and daily life of the Villa Consuelo sector.

Mayor Carolina Mejía stated that the project serves as an example of coordinated institutional work for community welfare. Robert Polanco, Director General of Propeep, noted that the transformation aims to change how residents, students, and merchants interact with their environment.
