Villa de Álvarez provides low-cost food staples to 1,000 families

The Villa de Álvarez municipal government has reached a strategic milestone by extending its social program to 100 neighborhoods, benefiting more than one thousand families. The initiative provides essential basic basket goods at significantly reduced prices compared to market averages.

Mayor Tey Gutiérrez Andrade stated that these social programs are vital for local families, allowing them to purchase necessities at lower costs. Items offered through the program include vegetables like tomatoes, mangoes, and carrots for 15 pesos per kilogram, milk for 13 pesos per liter, eggs for 28 pesos per kilogram, and sugar for 20 pesos per kilogram.

Alfredo Chávez, head of Social Programs for Villa de Álvarez, confirmed that the achievement of Strategic Goal 318—visiting 100 neighborhoods—has successfully supported over a thousand residents. The municipal government intends to continue the program throughout the remainder of the year.
