Villa de Mazo hosts astronomy and wine event ahead of August eclipse

The town council of Villa de Mazo on the island of La Palma is organising a free public event on Friday, 7 August at 17:00 at the Mirador Astronómico de Las Toscas. The programme combines certified astronomy outreach by Start La Palma, safety guidance for observing the upcoming solar eclipse on 12 August, and a tasting of wines from the DOP Vinos La Palma, including local producers from Villa de Mazo.

The activity is supported by the Consejo Regulador of the DOP Vinos La Palma and financed by the Gobierno de Canarias through the Dinamiza Rural programme, which aims to promote primary‑sector jobs, education, sport and sustainable tourism in small Canary Island municipalities.
