Villa de Pozos establishes Forest Fire Protection Committee
The municipal government of Villa de Pozos has established a Forest Fire Protection Committee to strengthen prevention and response capabilities. The initiative aims to protect natural resources and implement public policies to mitigate wildfire risks.
Led by council president Paty Aradillas Ardillas and municipal civil protection director Miguel Ángel Llanas Texon, the committee will coordinate efforts between government agencies and ejidal communities. These local communities will serve as essential allies for early smoke detection and monitoring.
To ensure effective response, the government will implement training programs for ejidal brigades. This training will cover the correct use of tools, fire combat tactics, and personal safety protocols to ensure that initial contact with a fire is safe and technical.
