Villa del Carbón official serves despite 10-year disqualification

Julio César Hernández Godínez is currently serving as the sub-treasurer of Income for the Villa del Carbón municipal government, despite a 10-year disqualification from holding public office.

The disqualification stems from a ruling by the Administrative Justice Tribunal of the State of Mexico, which found Hernández Godínez responsible for serious administrative misconduct involving abuse of functions during his time as finance coordinator for a water utility in Cuautitlán Izcalli. The ruling, issued in April 2025, also required him to pay an indemnity exceeding 1.48 million pesos.

Allegations suggest that the municipal administration, including Mayor Ofelia Antonio Sandoval, Syndicate José Rueda González, and Treasurer Miguel Ángel Miranda Granada, may have had prior knowledge of his administrative history when he was hired for the role involving the management of public resources.
