Villa El Salvador resident accused of stabbing dog during pet fight

A dog named Charly is in critical condition following an incident in Villa El Salvador, Lima, where he was allegedly stabbed during a fight between pets. The animal suffered significant abdominal wounds that have reportedly compromised one of his lungs, necessitating emergency surgery.

The owner, a 75-year-old woman named Teodora, claims that security footage shows a neighbor, identified as Jorge Alberto Rojas Tintaya, attacking the dog with a large knife. She further alleged that the man had previously attempted to attack another dog in the area.

Rojas Tintaya has provided a different account, claiming he acted in self-defense to protect his own pet during the confrontation. Witnesses reported seeing the man use a sharp object during the altercation, though some noted they did not realize he was armed until the aggression began. Authorities are investigating the incident as potential animal cruelty.
