Villa Ingenio stadium loses Always Ready and ABB clubs

The Villa Ingenio Municipal Stadium in El Alto is facing a crisis as two major professional football clubs, Always Ready and ABB, have announced they will no longer play their home matches at the venue.

ABB's technical director, Walter Flores, cited the severe deterioration of the pitch as the primary reason for the departure. Club coordinator Luis Gironda added that the field has been misused for non-sporting events, including dance festivals and parties involving alcohol, which has contributed to the poor playing conditions.

Always Ready's president, Andrés Costa, confirmed the club's decision following public disputes with El Alto Mayor Eliser Roca. The conflict involves disagreements over stadium maintenance agreements and allegations regarding the management of the facility. Always Ready is currently seeking alternative venues, including the Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz, for upcoming matches such as their Copa Bolivia quarter-final fixture.
