Villa La Angostura tragedy: Man kills daughter and injures ex-partner

A violent domestic incident in Villa La Angostura has resulted in the death of a three-year-old girl and injuries to her mother. According to judicial and police reconstructions, the attack occurred on Saturday evening at a rental property on Avenida Siete Lagos.

The suspect, identified as Carlos Arias, allegedly attacked the child with a knife following a dispute with his former partner. The mother managed to escape through a window to seek help from neighbors. Following the attack, Arias attempted suicide by inflicting deep wounds to his neck.

Arias is currently hospitalized at the Dr. Ramón Carrillo Hospital in San Martín de los Andes, where he remains sedated, intubated, and under police custody in critical condition. Prosecutor Adrián De Lillo is leading the investigation, with the provisional legal classification being double homicide—qualified by the relationship to the victim and linked femicide intended to cause suffering to the mother.
