Villa María hosts 1st Congress of Government Communication

The 1st Congress of Government Communication for Local Governments opened at the Universidad Nacional de Villa María (UNVM) in Argentina. The event, held on September 10 and 11, brings together mayors, academics, legislators, and communication professionals from across Argentina and Latin America to discuss strategic challenges and new trends in public administration.

During the opening, Villa María Mayor Eduardo Accastello emphasized the unique proximity of local governments to citizens, noting that being in daily contact with the community is essential for building responses through dialogue.

Political scientist Mario Riorda participated in the congress, noting that local municipalities face significant challenges regarding an excess of competencies. He highlighted the diversity of the participants and the grassroots nature of the event, which was organized with low costs and without paying honorariums to the speakers.
