Villa María hosts Mega Expo del Centro Argentino

The Mega Expo del Centro Argentino (MECA26) has opened in Villa María, featuring 350 stands representing the agricultural, industrial, and commercial sectors of the region. The event includes conferences on precision agriculture, the use of agricultural drones, artificial intelligence, and climate crisis management.

A central attraction is a record-breaking 1,000-kilogram cheese made from 10,000 liters of milk. This semi-hard cheddar-style cheese underwent a 70-day maturation process and was produced without remuneration by the technical team and La Cenobia SRL to benefit the community.

An auction of the cheese will be held to raise funds for local soup kitchens (merenderos) in Villa María and Villa Nueva. The proceeds will be used to purchase powdered milk for these community assistance entities. Other event highlights include a provincial barbecue competition, pizza master contests, and bioenergy olympiads.
