Villa Ángela: Police officer wounded during cable theft investigation

A police officer was injured during a confrontation in Villa Ángela following an operation to investigate suspected cable theft. The incident occurred around 2:10 AM near the intersection of Gorritis and Torcazas.

According to police reports, officers responded to a 911 call regarding a man, identified by locals as ‘Mandy’, who was allegedly stealing cables from a residence. During the attempt to locate and apprehend the suspect, the suspect’s brother, 31-year-old Gastón Tacks (alias ‘Ruso’), allegedly intervened to prevent the arrest. Tacks reportedly attacked Sergeant First Class Orlando Javier Pérez with a knife.

Pérez sustained multiple wounds, including several cuts to his right hand requiring 18 stitches and a puncture wound to his thigh. He was transported to a hospital and placed on medical leave. Following the attack, police conducted a perimeter operation and arrested both Tacks, who was found with a dagger, and the original suspect, ‘Mandy’.
