Villa Parnaso redevelopment advances despite maintenance neglect
In Torre Annunziata, the redevelopment of Villa Parnaso is moving forward administratively despite visible signs of neglect. The Extraordinary Commission has approved a twenty-year free loan agreement with the Metropolitan City of Naples, replacing a previous agreement from 2017. This extension includes new lands and buildings, aiming to expand the urban green space toward via dei Mille.
The revitalization project intends to transform the area into a major urban lung by recovering degraded spaces, creating pedestrian paths, and renovating ruined structures, including two garden ruins and parts of the villa facing via Marconi. However, current conditions show significant maintenance issues, with overgrown weeds and unkempt vegetation covering flowerbeds and paths, contrasting with the long-term development goals.
