Villa Romana del Casale to host Eneid theatrical production

The theatrical production of the Eneid, based on Virgil’s twelve-book poem, is scheduled to be performed on September 12 and 13 at the Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina. Produced by Buongiorno Sicilia, the show follows a previous run in Catania.

Critics and scholars, including theatre critic Matteo Licari and writer Dora Marchese, suggest the performance will bridge antiquity and modernity. The production aims to use the UNESCO World Heritage site as a narrative backdrop to explore universal themes of war and migration. Ticket prices include a night visit to the archaeological complex, which has recently undergone artistic lighting enhancements.
