Villa Romana di Casignana resumes archaeological excavations
New archaeological research initiatives are underway at the Villa Romana di Casignana in Italy. Following the Dialog Festival, researchers from the University of Perugia and the Soprintendenza of Reggio Calabria have announced the launch of a new excavation campaign, marking the first such activity at the site in nearly twenty years.
The project emphasizes the integration of advanced technology into archaeological science. Experts are utilizing geophysics, drones, laser scanning, thermography, georadar, and geoelectrical surveys to analyze the site and guide excavation efforts.
